Chaaa chaaa changin....

I have to keep reminding myself that change is not only inevitable, but that it is also good---although sometimes too much change at one time is not only stressful, but can be detrimental.
Everything around us these days is changing at astronomical paces. My life
does not resemble anything close to what it did two months ago. Although
I still work for the same company, my job has changed, my boss has changed
and my commute has changed. All of our system log ons and meeting requests have changed as have many of our email IDs. Our organizatonal structure has changed and our communication methods. How much is too much? Our stock price tanked and now it's up...a change for the better...
I think at some point change just becomes routine. I haven't reached that point yet as every time one thing seems to settle, another unravels. Perhaps this is just life in these times...either way, I keep telling myself that Change is GOOD.

Click three times to go home

Seems like everyone I know is going through a major life change. Some are getting married, many moving in together, some changing jobs...others leaving the country. It's all very sureal sometimes to me...like wondering if we all were pulled up by a tornado and landed on another parallel planet. I personally do believe in parallel universes, but that's a whole different blog :). To myself and all my friends out there who feel lost and/or confused sometimes with all the big changes...just remember to click your heels three times to come home and stay grounded. Our friends, families, coworkers, and all those others that care about us are only a click away (even if it is virtual!).

America's Builder

We had our final walkthrough with our new home builder, Dr. Horton, America's builder! I have to say they have been great so far. Very responsive, very helpful, very professional. We have only minor issues on the house and I cannot wait to move in! It's only been a couple of months, but it feels like 6! I'm turning the page in the next chapter of my life...I am very happy and excited!

Stop the madness!

If you have ever purchased a house, you know how the fees that everyone under the sun, including the title company keep adding up and up and up. You think you are going to close at x amount and it doubles by the time it's done. Bank fees, title fees, HOA fees...all of whom should really not have a bloody cent more for the lack of value that they add in the process. COME ON. $100 for COPY CHARGES? What are they using gold laced copy paper? It's all ONLINE now...and yet we still have paper charges along with "electronic filing fee!"...ok so now I have to pay for you to file and store electronically, scan, AND print out and copy? Where's my big bad squirt gun??? Someone needs to get some sense squirted into them!

Finding Excitement

Silver Rose just sent an article around about finding Excitement, not happiness. She said, "while we think we seek happiness, what we really want is excitement. Ferris, an author, puts it this way: "The question you should be asking isn't, "What do I want?" or "What are my goals? but "What would excite me?""

So as I sit here and contemplate that...I find that many, many things excite me. I'm excited when I finish a project, when I dance on a stage, when I give a presentation, when I complete a training, when I'm mentoring, when I'm sewing a costume, when I get a pat on the back, when I'm hiking a high peak and I make it to the top, when I paint my toes...so what does this say about me? That I'm easily excited--or excitable?? I think maybe I have already found the activities and job that get me excited as I think I've always lived my life this way...so for this I'm TOTALLY EXCITED!

slinky Slinky

What walks down stairs, alone or in pairs, and makes a slinkity sound?
A spring, a spring, a marvelous thing! Everyone knows it's Slinky.
It's Slinky, it's Slinky. For fun it's a wonderful toy.
It's Slinky, it's Slinky. It's fun for a girl or a boy.
It's fun for a girl or a boy!

My co-worker sent me a slink in the mail today--unmarked--I was very confused, shocked, and surprised and was laughing out loud as I tried to figure out who the mysterious sender was! I'm very grateful that he sent it because it was just what I needed to relieve some of the stress and to keep me grounded. A good reminder that life is FUN and not to take things too seriously!
